Course Description

There is a phenomenon called “divorce fog” which is very real in terms of your normally competent clients being able to navigate the transition where everything they knew changes and the impact on their finances and family can be profound.

This webinar will help you understand what your clients are facing financially and otherwise when they divorce. A benefit to learning how to help clients during this period is truly adding value to their lives just when they need it most.  Learn how to structure finances during divorce, then as the money starts moving (post-divorce transfer period), and finally as they land in their new financial life and create a life they love.

Learning Objectives

  • How to organize your own and your client’s thinking around their finances during divorce.

  • Build the base case, then show scenarios of potential outcomes.

  • Money in motion – how to help your clients get from here to there financially.

  • A financial future – building a new life with all its possibilities.

  • Taking a negative transition and creating a positive outcome – real value to real families and we can put a dollar amount on that.

I was skeptical the presentation would hold my attention for 2 hours, but not an issue! Bonnie is an outstanding communicator and extremely knowledgeable."

"I really liked that you allowed a little time for Q&A after the presentation. Usually presenters run out of time for that. I love hearing the "real-life" questions."

Bonnie was raised in a single family home in the wealthy hamlet of Clarendon Hills, IL, 15 miles west of Chicago. A small town of 7500, it was common in the 1960's to refer to such homes as 'broken'. While the family was often broke, her loving home was never broken. She endeavored to understand money: how it works, how it can work for you, and most importantly, how to use it for good, whether for your personal family goals or something even larger. Bonnie has been working with families and individuals since 1990 and earned her Certified Financial Planner designation in 1992. She also earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary, AIF®, designation and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst designation, CDFA™. She served 3 years on the National Board for the Financial Planning Association, served on the Foundation for Financial Planning board, and served as President on the Board of Directors for the non-profit Loudoun Therapeutic Riding. She has also been a volunteer advisor for families in the Building Homes for Heroes program. Bonnie earned a Master’s degree in Financial Planning and keeps current through at least 30 hours of professional continuing education each year. As the 3rd generation of women business owners in her family, Bonnie has expertise in helping men and women meet their wildest dreams. In business ~ she can help you plan, build or exit your business profitably, she helps divorced clients keep and grow their settlements, and guides widows and widowers in their new lives.
